Why do I write reviews?
Most "animation reviewers" on the internet are influenced by the Nostalgia Critic and Mr. Enter. I, on the other hand, was influenced not by YouTube videos, but rather by blogs that do humorous reviews, such as Nothing But Cartoons (which I discovered at some point in the 2010s... I want to say around 2012?) and a now-defunct blog called The Terror of Tiny Toon. After reading these blogs and finding them hilarious, I wanted to write funny reviews and make people laugh as well. Whether or not I've succeeded, I don't know. Plus, one of those blogs has been on hiatus since 2012 and the other was deleted and now can only be found via the Internet Archive. SOMEBODY'S gotta fill the void.
For a list of things that I am not going to review so please don't ask me to review it, thank you, click here.
Can you review Fix and Foxi and Friends sometime?
ReplyDeleteSorry to burst your bubble, but with the show's inherently foreign nature, none of his reviews mentioning the show in any capacity, and it likely not offering him enough joke material to post a review of it, chances of it appearing on this blog are the size of a gnat (get it? He uploaded a review of the Buzz on Maggie, a show about flies, today? ...No reaction?).
DeleteWell, never say never.
DeleteIn response to your "Why do I write reviews?", I can say with certainty that you have succeeded and then some in making me laugh with your reviews. Even when it comes to opinions on shows or characters I like (Pinkie Pie because her randomness appeals to my broken sense of humor; Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi purely because of Yumi's sarcasm; Kaz because he's such an over-the-top greedy slimeball I can't help but laugh at his antics sometimes), you always find a way to make them funny and engaging in the same vein as Nothing But Cartoons (even if that blog's been effectively dead since 2012). Congrats on your work!
ReplyDeleteI remember Kid vs. Kat being on your upcoming reviews list. It was sandwiched between Mighty Ducks and Road to El Dorado
ReplyDeleteI've tried to do a review of it twice. I couldn't get enough joke material out of it.
DeleteThat show was bad anyway

Wasn’t the Road to El Dorado on your upcoming reviews?
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was. But from what I've heard, the development of the film was a mess, so I'm considering doing a "The History of..." post about it instead.
DeleteMake way for noddy
ReplyDeleteI got a rocket
ReplyDeleteMy dad the rock star
The 13 ghosts of Scooby doo
The thief and the cobbler
Timon and pumbaa
The lion guard
Beethoven
The animated free Willy
Sea level
The iron giant
I've tried to write reviews of "Beethoven", "Sea Level", and the animated "Free Willy". They didn't give me enough joke material.
DeleteI probably won't review "The Lion Guard", I generally don't do reviews of preschooler shows. I think that's why I scrapped my review of "The Busy World of Richard Scarry" as well.
The epic tales of captain underpants
ReplyDeleteSpeed racer the next generation
I recently watched an episode of "The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants". I thought it was pretty bad.
DeleteAt least they had child actors voiced George and Harold
DeleteOh yeah, that's one good thing I'll say about it. The celebrity voices in the movie ruined it for me.
DeleteIt’s like if Alan rickman voiced Russell in up
DeleteTrust me I’m a genie
ReplyDeleteWish kid
ReplyDeleteThat's on my "to-review" list.
DeleteThat never ending story cartoon
ReplyDeleteTried to do it. Didn't make for a particularly funny review (it's one of those cartoons that's okay at best and mediocre at worst).
DeleteThe angry birds movie
ReplyDeleteBig hero 6 the series
ReplyDeleteJungle cubs
ReplyDeleteThe pirates who don’t do anything
ReplyDeleteThe clue club
ReplyDeleteYes, that's on my "to-review" list.

ReplyDeleteShrek the halls
ReplyDeleteBrother bear
ReplyDeleteActually, I think I'm gonna do a "The History of..." post about that film. The sequel is on my "to review" list, though.
DeleteWhat's a show on your to-do list that you really do or don't want to get to?
ReplyDeleteI've been putting off my review of "The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang" for a while. I've heard it's pretty lousy, so I'm hoping I can get some good jokes out of it.
DeleteAs far as a show that I'm REALLY anxious about doing, I'd probably go with "Angela Anaconda".
The emperor’s new groove
ReplyDeleteKronos new groove
I'm not gonna do "The Emperor's New Groove". It's way too popular. I tend to go for more obscure stuff.
Delete"Kronk's New Groove" is on my to-review list.

ReplyDeleteThe Halloween tree
ReplyDeleteThe veggietales little drummer boy

ReplyDeleteI doubt I'll be doing any "VeggieTales" episodes, the show is too popular and I tend to review more obscure stuff.
DeleteThe queens corgi
ReplyDeleteCars 2
ReplyDeleteThe weekenders
ReplyDeleteOliver and company
ReplyDeleteJellystone…
ReplyDeleteI'm not going near "Jellystone". First of all, I already know that I hate it and I refuse to watch another episode out of principle. Second, it's too popular.
